Keep up-to-date about new medications and treatments, and receive the encouragement and motivation needed to live well with Parkinson's disease. Moderated by Dr. Diana Apetauerova, a Neurologist who serves at Director of the Movement Disorders Center at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and is associate clinical professor at Tufts University and visiting associate clinical professor at Charles University, Czech Republic. Dr. Apetauerova evaluates and plans treatment for patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Older Adult Nutrition: Practical Strategies Sara Casey Fagan, RD, CSG, LDN, Director of Nutrition, Dining Services Older adults have unique nutritional needs, especially as the body changes with age. This can put them at increased risk for malnutrition and other chronic diseases. This presentation will give an overview of the changes that occur with aging, nutritional needs and priorities for the older adult, especially those with cognitive impairment and dysphagia, as well as focus on practical strategies and food-based interventions that can be implemented to help prevent and treat common nutritional problems in the older adult.
